The Cardinal Stritch University Office of Advancement seeks an energetic and skilled communicator as the Assistant Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations. This individual will join a team which is inspired to build upon Stritch’s success in securing grants from government sources, Milwaukee’s corporate community and from charitable foundations throughout the nation. This position reports to the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations and will play a key role as the University dramatically increases its fund raising trajectory over the next five years. The Assistant Director will manage the grant application process from pre-proposal concept development to post-award grant management summarized as follows: a) cultivate relationships with prospective funders and develop strategies with funders in collaboration with the Vice President for Advancement and the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations; b) engage in all aspects of proposal development, including research, writing, editing, budget development, and submission, in collaboration with faculty and staff; c) assist management in determining appropriate alignment between strategic goals and funder requirements; and d) manage all grant application and reporting deadlines to ensure exemplary and timely submissions, including programmatic and fiscal reporting requirements.    

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree and have 3-5 years of fund raising and/or business marketing experience. Exceptional written and verbal skills are required. Candidates must have intermediate proficiency of Microsoft Excel, in addition to the ability to comfortably navigate budgets. Experience with development programs associated with higher education or community non-profit education is highly desirable. Familiarity with Catholic or faith-based institutions is helpful but not necessary. This is a full-time position. Compensation includes salary, health care benefits as well as a generous tuition remission program for those interested in earning a Master’s degree or higher at Cardinal Stritch University. Tuition remission benefits are also available for eligible children of employees.
