The Cardinal Stritch University Office of Advancement seeks a strategic-thinking, energetic, articulate and goal-driven Associate Vice President for Advancement/Senior Philanthropic Officer (AVP/SPO) to help lead its major and leadership gift programs. This individual will join a team which is inspired to build upon Stritch’s success in securing charitable gifts from alumni, parents and friends of the University. This position reports to the Vice President for University Advancement and will play a key role as the University dramatically increases its fund raising trajectory over the next five years during a proposed comprehensive capital and endowment campaign. The AVP/SPO serves as a key player on the major ($25,000+) and leadership gift ($1 million+) team of the Office of University Advancement and is responsible for managing a portfolio of 150 prospects resulting in the annual attainment of personal and team goals. The AVP will supervise only one direct report (Director of Major and Planned Gifts) so that portfolio management and prospect visits are of elevated priority.
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree, 7-10 years of major gift experience. Excellent written and verbal skills are a must. Experience in higher education and familiarity with Catholic or faith-based institutions are helpful but not necessary. This is a full-time position. Compensation includes very competitive salary, health care benefits as well as a generous tuition remission program for those who wish to seek out a Master’s degree or higher at Cardinal Stritch University. Tuition remission benefits are also available for eligible children of employees.
