Financial Aid Service Coordinator

Summary:  The Financial Aid Service Coordinator is a full-time position within the Financial Aid Office at Cardinal Stritch University.  This position is the primary service provider to all walk-ins and phone inquiries.  This person will represent the Financial Aid Office at new student orientations and events.  The person in this position will maintain an awarding population, and be responsible for the counseling of the students in this population as it pertains to their financial aid awards and financial obligations.  They will also order and disburse funds when needed and assist with other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Financial Aid.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop a working knowledge of all student financial aid programs administered by the Financial Aid Office and the University

  • Review student applications for financial assistance

  • Award appropriate aid items and revising as necessary

  • Develop and maintain solid working relationships with the Admissions Office and Student Success Center to achieve enrollment goals

  • Monitor student satisfactory academic progress

  • Certify both state and federal funds as necessary

  • Order and disburse state, federal, and institutional funds as necessary

  • Authorize and process financial aid refunds to students and/or lenders

  • Provide individual and group advising to aid applicants

  • Provide excellent service to all parents, students, and employees that come through the Financial Aid Office

  • Provide back-up support to other team members and staff

  • Assist with other projects as assigned by the Director of Financial Aid

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • Minimum of one to three years related work experience preferable in Financial Aid and/or Student Service

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of and experience in all Title IV program areas preferred

  • Intermediate to excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Applications, specifically: Word, Excel and Outlook
