History and Political Science at Cardinal Stritch University is seeking a
qualified candidate for the position of a non-tenured track, renewable,
full-time assistant professor of Political Science beginning August 2014. The
position involves teaching lower and upper division courses in both American
and International politics, advising majors and pre-law students, a committee appointment
and departmental assignments.
Requirements: A Ph.D.
in Political Science is expected at time of appointment as well as a commitment
to teaching excellence in an undergraduate, liberal arts program. The faculty member will teach four classes
each semester. A willingness to teach a
variety of courses in Political Science is essential as well as the ability to
promote academic success among a diverse student population. Applicants should have a strong record of
excellence in teaching and scholarship appropriate for the appointment. Preference will be given to candidates who
are willing to travel once a year with the Stritch Model United Nations Club.
Qualified candidates are invited to send their curriculum vitae, a
letter of interest that expresses their teaching philosophy, three letters of
recommendation, official transcripts, and evidence of effective teaching. The satisfactory completion of a criminal
background check is required prior to hiring.
The committee will begin to review applicants on November 15, 2013. The search will remain open until the
