Undergraduate Admissions Counselor

Summary:  The Undergraduate Admissions Counselor position serves as a recruiter and admission counselor in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.  The Undergraduate Admissions Counselor is responsible for managing all aspects of a recruitment territory and keeping the Associate Director of Undergraduate Admissions informed of the status and the progress of each of the tasks outlined below.  

In terms of specific recruitment assignments, this position is responsible for recruiting and counseling incoming undergraduate students to programs offered by the College of Arts & Sciences, College of Business & Management, College of Education & Leadership and the Ruth S. Coleman College of Nursing & Health Sciences.

  • Schedule and attend designated recruitment events and college fairs
  • Cultivate relationships with all prospects and applicants through consistent in-person, email and telephone contact in order to recruit prospective students and assist applicants throughout the admissions process
  • Facilitate the campus visitation of all prospective students and applicants within the territory and conduct personal visits
  • Develop territory recruitment plans consistent with the strategic plan and goals of the University
  • Meet enrollment goals established by the Vice President for Undergraduate Enrollment Services and Strategic Planning and Associate Director of Undergraduate Admissions

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Working knowledge of and experience in recruitment and the admissions/enrollment management field preferred
  • Working knowledge of financial aid processes and transfer credit evaluation preferred
  • Minimum of one year related work experience
