History

The Franciscan Center opened on the campus of Cardinal Stritch University on Sept. 1, 1997.

Stritch was chosen as the Center's location because:

• The University is sponsored by the Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi.
• The promotion of Franciscan values is part of the mission of the University.
• The University is the largest Franciscan-sponsored institution for higher education in North America.
