Minors

Requirements for a minor in History or Political Science.


History Minor: 18 credits

  • Required courses for minor

    Required courses for minor:  HS 243, HS 202 and four electives with two in American History classes and two in Non-American (Global) history courses. Required courses for minor in history for elementary certification: HS 101, 102; 103 or 104, 201, 202, 314, 402 or 405, one elective course.

  • Required auxiliary courses for minor: None

Political Science minor: 18 credits

  • Required courses for minor: POLS 201 and either 102 or 206 and four elective courses
  • Required auxiliary courses for minor: None


International Studies Minor: 18 credits

  • Required courses for minor: POLS 206. Two additional courses from Political Science, must choose from the following: POLS 201, 210, 215, 220, 320, 341 (cross-listed, can only be taken once). A minimum of one course from History, must choose from the following: HS 202, 315, 316, 317, 318, 319, 320, 341 (cross-listed, can only be taken once). A minimum of one course from electives, must choose from the following: ART 243, CA 340, CA 331, BL/CH 210 (cross-listed), EN 303, REL 210, REL 212, 200+ level language course (SPN, FR, or GR). The sixth course is to be selected from any of those listed in the History or electives section. One course (approved by the International Studies advisor) can be transferred in and counted towards the minor.
