The Sr. Justine Peter Lecture Series, "The War on the Poor," presentation by Joe Soss, Ph.D.
Soss' areas of scholarly expertise include poverty, social welfare policy, and race. His talk will partly be based on Disciplining the Poor, a highly acclaimed 2011 book Soss and two colleagues authored. He will also focus on the growing income and wealth inequality and the increasingly harsh treatment of the poor, especially African-Americans, over the last three decades.
