General Information
Generally
the student teacher will complete a 10-week placement in southeastern
Wisconsin and complete a 10-week placement overseas. Students
should apply for this opportunity one year prior to the expected student
teaching placement. Program duration abroad typically lasts from 8 to 10 weeks depending on the needs of our foreign school partners. Stritch is happy to be working with Educators Abroad to locate meaningful Teach Abroad opportunities.
Because
many schools abroad do not follow our school schedule, students may need to
complete the placement abroad in a time that exceeds our traditional
semester. In this case, the student will receive an incomplete and the
grade for student teaching will be posted upon completion of the placement
abroad.
Students
interested in a teaching placement abroad should initially contact
the College of Education and Leadership and submit a teach
abroad program application to the
Office of Student Placements. For more information about student teacher
placements abroad including program cost and program locations, please contact the Study Abroad Office.
