The College of Business and Management is an accredited member of the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).
ACBSP is the leading specialized
accreditation association for business education that supports, celebrates, and
rewards teaching excellence. The association embraces teaching excellence
and emphasizes to students that it is essential to learn how to learn. ACBSP
also acknowledges the importance of scholarly research and inquiry and believes
that such activities facilitate improved teaching.
ACBSP, founded in 1988 and located in Overland
Park, Kansas, a suburb of Kansas City, was created by its members to fulfill a
need for specialized accreditation by institutions of higher education with
business schools and programs. Specifically, that need was for business
education accreditation based on the mission of the institution and of the
respective unit, an accreditation that acknowledged and emphasized quality in
teaching and learning outcomes.
There are approximately 2,400 U.S. institutions of
higher education that have business administration, finance, management, and
marketing. Economics is also often taught within a school of college of
business, and is considered a sixth business-related field in such schools.
Many institutions also have specialized areas of study such as human resource
management, management information systems, and public administration that are
part of a business academic unit and considered to be business-related

College of Business and Management’s commitment to continuous academic quality
improvement through its rigorous affirmation process. Among other
qualities, ACBSP accreditation means that our faculty come to the classroom with
real-world experience, programs reflect current realities and skills required
in the business world, and student support services reflect the latest support
strategies to ensure success in the program.
The College of Business and
Management’s Bachelor of Science programs in Business Administration,
Management, Strategic Management of Information Systems, and Human Services
Management, and the Master of Business Administration and Master of Management,
are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and
The College of Business and
Management’s recent academic reorganization aligned all traditional and
non-traditional business degrees offered at Stritch under the auspices of the
College. As a result, the College is working with ACBSP to expand accreditation
to all degree programs offered.
Cardinal Stritch University’s College
of Business and Management received its initial accreditation in 2001 and
continues to remain in good standing within ACBSP. Stritch received its most
recent reaffirmation from ACBSP in 2012.
