BA Accounting

The field of accounting offers stimulating and challenging work that is constantly evolving.

Face to Face Program

Because accountants spend a lot of time contributing to the healthy financial underpinning of organizations, they have a unique perspective on how business work.  It’s no surprise that many highly successful careers in business began with accounting.

The Accounting major is designed to prepare students for rewarding careers in public and private accounting. Accounting is the study of how businesses track their income and assets over time, and accountants engage in a wide variety of activities including preparing financial statements, recording business transactions, and computing costs and efficiency gains from new technologies.

Accountants also participate in strategies for mergers and acquisitions, quality management, developing and using information systems to track financial performance, tax strategy, and health care benefits management.

We require students to complete an internship in their area of interest. This provides the students with the opportunity to interact with professionals in the work environment. Many of our students have received offers for full-time employment in the firm in which they interned.
