Degree Requirements

B.S. Strategic Management of Information Systems

A minimum of 128 semester credits are required for graduation. A minimum of 128 semester credits must include 41 credits in the major plus 30 credits in liberal arts as follows:

(a) Three courses in the Humanities:

Examples:

  • Literature
  • Art Appreciation (not Applied Art)Foreign Language
  • History
  • Philosophy/Religion/Theology

(b) One course in Math

(c) One course in Science

(d) Thee courses in Social Sciences

    Music Appreciation (not Applied Music)

    (e) One course in Written Communication

    (f ) One course in Oral Communication

    (g) One course in Ethics (must be MGT 460, MIS 459 for the BS-SMIS program, or PSM 463 for the PSM program)

    (h) The remaining three courses or nine credits may be in any of the above Liberal Arts areas.

    Other requirements:

    • A minimum of 2.0 overall grade point average
    • A minimum grade of C- in major courses
    • Faculty recommendation for graduation.

    Examples (Assuming 50 credits transferred):

    • 128 credits (minimum to graduate)
      -50 transferable college credits
    • 78 credits needed
      -41 credits in the major
    • 37 remaining credits

    The remaining credits may be earned through:

    • Portfolio - 36 credits maximum (10 credits average award)
    • CLEP - 60 credits maximum
    • Elective Courses - unlimited amount
    • Stritch Certificate or AS programs
