WEA Academy
The WEA Professional Development Academy works collaboratively with
agencies, associations, and institutions of higher education, and has
recognized programs to train education support professionals and
substitute teachers as well as classroom teachers.
It serves as Wisconsin’s authorized provider of Pathwise training and is involved in a number of efforts to support school improvement. Please contact WEA for current course dates and course pricing for WEAC members and non-members. Cost for the graduate credit option is $200/credit, in addition to the WEA program fee.

Teaching Online Courses
Develop the competencies necessary for delivering instruction in an online environment. Learn about the newest technologies that can be used in providing a meaningful and successful learning environment.
Upon successful completion of these courses, you will have acquired the 30 hours of professional development in compliance with the DPI requirements for Teaching Online Courses. You must complete both of these courses:
CED 501 Succeeding in Online Learning
1 graduate credit
In this course, you will receive the ability to assume a leadership role in planning, integrating, implementing, and supporting instructional technology. You will learn how to use and integrate computers and other modern technologies effectively as tools to enhance learning, teaching, and training and gain an awareness of emerging technologies and their ability to plan for their implementation and management.
CED 502 Teaching and Learning Online
1 graduate credit
In this course, you will experience the online learning environment from a student perspective by exploring available tools and software. You will learn to plan, design, and incorporate appropriate active and engaging instructional strategies and valid and reliable assessments as well as how to apply concepts and techniques that will make you an effective online facilitator and learner. This course will discuss how to model and encourage legal, ethical, safe, and healthy online behavior and explore how to address special needs online.
