Master of Arts (M.A.) in Visual Studies

Program Format

A new cohort for the Master of Arts (M.A.) in Visual Studies program starts once per year during the fall semester at Cardinal Stritch University’s main campus in Milwaukee. A cohort consists of 10 to 13 students that take courses together and move through the program as a group.

To respond to the needs of working graduate students, classes are held on alternate Saturdays during the school year and on weeknights during the six week summer session. The M.A. in Visual Studies program can be completed in approximately two years.

Opportunity to Study in Italy

During some summer sessions, students in the M.A. in Visual Studies program have the option to travel to Italy with Stritch faculty for two weeks. You will experience Rome, Florence, and other Tuscan locations, tracing a distinct path from Medieval through Renaissance to Contemporary art and culture. This is a unique opportunity to travel and learn with your fellow cohort members, enjoying an Italian immersion experience as part of your graduate studies.
