Academic Admissions

In order to be accepted for admission to Stritch, international applicants must provide information about themselves, their English ability, and their prior educational credentials. Stritch’s Office of Undergraduate Admissions, Office of Graduate Admissions, or College of Business and Management Admissions Office will correspond with and advise international applicants once all required documents have been submitted, and when all of the following steps have been completed.

Step 1: Complete Stritch’s Application for Admission
Students must apply for admission online. Choose the appropriate academic program, and then choose the ‘International’ link on the following page. There is no application fee.

Step 2: Provide documentation of English ability
For all applicants whose prior education was not conducted in English, scores for the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) must be submitted. Worldwide testing sites can be identified at the TOEFL website. Stritch requires a minimum TOEFL score of 550 (written format), 213 (computerized format), or 79 (Internet-based format). TOEFL scores should be sent directly from TOEFL to Stritch. Stritch’s institutional code is 1100.

Applicants who have successfully completed one academic year of full-time studies in the U.S. are not required to take the TOEFL. Applicants currently residing in the U.S., who possess an excellent command of spoken and written English, may apply for a TOEFL waiver.

Step 3: Evaluation of academic credentials

United States-based transcripts must be sent directly from the former educational institution to the appropriate admissions office. (Office addresses are listed below.)

Foreign credentials (high school or university-level transcripts) must be evaluated by The World Education Service (www.wes.org)  or by another Nationally Approved Credential Evaluation Service to determine the U.S. equivalency and grade point average. A list of credit evaluation services can be found online on the NACES website. Evaluation(s) of foreign credentials must be sent directly from the evaluation service to the appropriate admissions office. (Office addresses are listed below.)

Applicants who have attended a university outside of the U.S. must request a course-by-course evaluation as this may result in the ability to transfer prior academic credit into a Stritch academic program.

Undergraduate students from a British-based educational system
International applicants who have completed their GCSE’s and are currently completing their "A" levels or Btechs, should complete an evaluation (which must include grade equivalency information) on their GCSE’s only. Stritch will use this evaluation to determine their academic acceptance. Once the results of their "A" levels or Btechs are processed, the applicant will want to complete a course-by-course evaluation to transfer in academic credit from their prior studies.
