Role of Alumni Board Member
The Alumni Association Board of Directors provides guidance and leadership for alumni programming and strategic planning. The Board of Directors works closely with the Alumni Relations staff donating their time, talent, and treasure with the University.
Time
We count on your willingness to make every effort to attend meetings. Board meetings are held quarterly in accordance to the by-laws. In addition, we ask that you serve on at least one of our five standing committees, which meet at the discretion of the committee chairs.
- Campus and Community Connections
- Student Ambassador Program
- Nominations and Awards
- Communications
- Fundraising
You are also encouraged to attend local University/alumni events. These special events provide an opportunity for you to meet with alumni in a social setting, meet University staff, and personally thank our many friends and supporters of the University.
Talent
Each of you brings to the board a set of unique talents and qualities that will enhance our meetings and decisions, thus creating a better board to serve the alumni, students, and the University. As a prominent member of the community, you lend stature to the Association and to the University. You are an ambassador and an advocate who shares our accomplishments and goals with alumni, friends, business associates, and government officials.
Treasure
Directors are encouraged to make an annual gift to Cardinal Stritch University. Amount contributed is at the discretion of the individual director. In 2009-2010, there was 100% board participation in giving to the annual fund.
