after pioneering new methods of providing education, Stritch has made a concerted effort to better partner with and serve an expansive community of learners.
Today, Stritch serves more than 6,000 students at classroom sites throughout the Milwaukee metro area, Madison, Minneapolis, Rochester, and Chicago.
Stritch’s original purpose was to equip the Sisters of St.
Francis of Assisi to be teachers. Many worked in the community, teaching children.
Stritch also was a pioneer in the teaching of reading and in special education
and offered advanced degrees in Milwaukee and later in Boston.
In the early 1980s,
Stritch was the first in the institution of higher education to offer accelerated degrees at night to adults in sites throughout the city.
And Stritch has for many years provided accelerated programs in education
