The Performing Arts Department at Stritch offers something for everyone. We aim to educate and enlighten through degree programs in theater and music, and through participation in Concert Choir or the Instrumental Chamber. We also engage and entertain the community through upcoming shows and performances.
talented theater students present four productions a year, from
musicals to the classics. Most performances take place in the Joan
Steele Stein Center for Communication Studies/Fine Arts, which
includes the lovely 400-seat Nancy Kendall Theater.
Rooted in the
liberal arts tradition, our theater program includes an active
performance and production schedule in which students are afforded the
opportunity to work in all areas of theater including acting, directing,
stage management, dance, voice, stagecraft, costuming, lighting and
including recitals, concerts, and musicales, are offered throughout the
year in an array of musical genres. Performances
take place in the Nancy Kendall Theater, located in the Stein Center;
and Schroeder Auditorium, which is located in the Great Hall.
