Stritch Center for Opportunity and Promise in Education (SCOPE) Prep Program
“Preparing today’s youth for tomorrow’s future”
Program description
The SCOPE Prep Program is a 10-week learning experience that challenges and inspires elementary and middle school students to dream of a college education and improve academic skills. This program is designed for minority and low-income students who are eager to learn. By participating in SCOPE Prep, students will improve their academic performance and begin to aspire to earn a college education.
During the program, Cardinal Stritch University faculty, staff and students work with SCOPE Prep students on academic skill development and provide tutorial assistance in reading, writing and math. Students also participate in two visits to the main Cardinal Stritch University campus to enjoy educational and cultural enrichment activities.
Students entering second through seventh grade are eligible to participate in the SCOPE Prep Program. Students must also live in the Greentree/Teutonia housing development and surrounding area. Selection priority will be given to students eligible for the school district free and reduced hot lunch program.
Tutoring sessions are held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the Greentree/Teutonia Community Learning Center, 3744 W. Green Tree Road.
