A series of eight sessions designed to help teachers explore best practices in being successful educators of urban students.

- Audience: K-12 1st - 3rd yr. beginning urban educators and their mentors and would be appropriate for any educator or administrator
- Take just one stand alone session or as many as you would like
- A graduate credit is not available for this series

PI 34 Wisconsin Teacher Standards-Based Seminars
Purpose
- To provide an opportunity for mentors and beginning teachers to learn how to improve teacher practice to impact student learning in relation to the Wisconsin Teacher Standards.
- To provide a springboard for future dialogues and work between the beginning teacher & mentor.
- To share ideas and resources with others in and across roles and experiences.
- To reflect on personal practice and set goals for growth in promoting positive classroom environments.
- Beginning teachers who are new to the profession and their mentors.
- You may register for the all of the seminars at once or may do so individually.
- Seminars will be held from 5-7 p.m. A light supper will be served from 4:30-5 p.m.
- These seminars are designed primarily for classroom teachers and specialist teachers. If you are pupil services personnel (ie. guidance counselor, social worker, psychologist) please check with your individual district to see if your attendance is required.
- Participants will be separated into four rooms: K-5th grade, 6th-12th grade, Speacialists and Special Ed/Early Childhood
- Each seminar will be offered at a northeast and southwest location. For each seminar, participants may choose the date and site which is most convenient for them.
- There is one graduate credit available to those who attend all five seminars. Credit information will be available at the first seminar.
- Please register two weeks before the event.

PI 34 Informational Overview and FAQs
Participants will be provided with the most current DPI information that is needed to write a Professional Development Plan. Both overviews will immediately follow the December PI-34 Wisconsin Teacher Standards Based Seminar and will be offered at a Northeast and Southwest location. Please pick a date and location that is most convenient for you.
Intended Audience: SEWNTP initial educators, professional educators interested in writing a PDP to renew their license, and mentors.

EDUC 584: Writing the Professional Development Plan
This course will help you understand the requirements of PI 34 and be able to complete your PDP. Participants will gain an in-depth understanding of the law and the PDP, explore teacher standards, and write a PDP.
Intended Audience: 1st year beginning teachers, mentors, and professional educators
