Laptops & Devices

The library has a number of different technologies available for checkout. All  users should adhere to the Cardinal  Stritch University Acceptable Use Policy for electronic equipment.

Loaner Laptops

The library has a collection of laptops available for student use.  This program's primary mission is to assist those without personal access to computing resources.Laptop

   
       
  • Laptops can be checked out by current Stritch students only.
    •    
  • Laptops  have a 3-DAY checkout period, and they cannot be renewed.
    •        
  • Laptops are checked out on a  'first come – first serve' basis and cannot be reserved.
    •    
  • Overdue fine is $10 a day.
    •    
  • Microsoft Office is installed on each laptop.
    •    

iPadsiPad

 
       
  • The iPads are available for checkout to current Stritch students, faculty, and staff.
    •    
  • The loan period is three days, and they cannot be renewed.
    •    
  • The overdue fine is $10 per day.
    •    
  • Like the laptops, iPads are available on a first-come, first-served basis.  They cannot be reserved.
    •    
  • Users are asked to fill out a short survey to provide feedback on the iPads before returning them.  It is easily accessible on the dock on the iPad home screen.
    •    
  • The iPads have wireless internet access as well as a variety of multimedia apps.
    •    

Staff and faculty members may request an extension to the normal loan period by filling out a form.  Extended use waivers are based on iPad availability.

CalculatorsCalculators

The Student Government Association has donated a collection of scientific and graphing calculators available for students to check out at the library circulation desk. 

   
       
  • Calculators can only be checked out to current Stritch students.
    •    
  • Calculators can be checked out for 7 days.
    •    
  • The overdue fine for calculators is $1 per day.
    •    
  • The replacement fee for lost graphing calculators is $100 plus an additional $10 processing fee.
    •    
  • The replacement fee for lost scientific calculators is $10 plus an additional $10 processing fee.
    •    

HeadphonesHeadphones

The library maintains a collection of headphones available at the circulation desk for use within the library.

   
       
  • Headphones can be checked out by all Stritch students, faculty, and staff.
    •    
  • The loan period is four hours, and they cannot leave the library.
    •    
  • The replacement fee for lost or damaged headphones is $50 plus an additional $10 processing fee.
    •    

Floppy disk drivesFloppy disc drive

USB external floppy disk drives are available at the circulation desk for use within the library.

   
       
  • USB external floppy disk drives can be checked out by all Stritch students, faculty, and staff.
    •    
  • The loan period is four hours, and they cannot leave the library.
    •    
  • The overdue fine is $1 per hour.
    •    
  • The replacement fee for lost or damaged floppy disk drives is $30.
    •    

WolfCamsWolfCam

       

Wolfcams are easy-to-use touch screen  cameras that take digital still photos as well as video.  The WolfCams  easily connect to a computer with a built-in USB arm for transferring and  saving your videos.

   
          
  • WolfCams are available for checkout to current Stritch students, faculty, and staff.

  • The loan period is three days, and they cannot be renewed.
    •      
  • The overdue fine is $10 per day.

  • Like the laptops and iPads, WolfCams are available on a first-come, first-served basis. They cannot be reserved.
