The Cardinal Stritch University community extends a warm welcome to Dr. James Loftus, who began his tenure as Stritch's eighth president July 1.

He came to Stritch from St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa, where he served as vice president of enrollment management and student services.

Dr. Loftus is a lifelong supporter of Catholic education who is deeply impressed by the quality of the Stritch faculty and staff, the enthusiasm of its students and the commitment of the Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi to the University’s core values. Read Dr. Loftus' full bio.

In celebration of the July 4 holiday, and to begin to meet the greater Milwaukee community, Dr. Loftus rode in the Whitefish Bay and Shorewood Independence Day parades with his wife, Irene.

Sister Camille Kliebhan, Stritch chancellor and former president, rode with the Loftus’, and Wolfy, the Stritch mascot, was along side as well.
