Gift Guide connects shoppers with fellow alumni

The Spice House

Old World 3rd St. in Milwaukee, another Wisconsin store at Milwaukee Public Market, and three locations in Illinois. Some available items include gift boxes, spice accessory sets, Milwaukee-themed seasoning boxes, gift certificates, nutmeg and spice microplane graters, salt and pepper mills, and salt cellars.

Narrow Road Coffee

Place orders from this micro-roast coffee company, based in Rochester, Minn., via e-mail at sales@narrowroadcoffee.org. Purchase organic, fair-trade, decaf, and other coffees at various roast levels and origins. Shirts also are available. Their mission is to sell high-quality, locally roasted coffee and donate 25% of the purchase price to Christian missionaries around the world.

Lori is the owner and a certified tourism ambassador for Tour Milwaukee LLC, a year-round walking tour company that highlights food and information about Milwaukee and the Midwest. With several themed tours that feature various parts of the city, Tour Milwaukee provides six "tasting locations" per route, giving both tourists and locals the chance to enjoy several specialty cuisines during either lunch or dinner hours. Gift certificates are available via the website.

The Stritch Gallery Store features original student and alumni artwork, including paintings, photographs and ceramics. Half the sale proceeds go to the artists and the other half provide funding for future gallery programming. Wearable items, such as scarves and jewelry, are bestsellers, and gallery director Claire Odishoo said students are working hard to keep items in stock and develop fresh ideas, so the inventory is constantly changing.
