In the spirit of Stritch's Franciscan values, students, faculty, and staff
are encouraged to participate in Campus Ministry’s Thanksgiving Food Drive,
beginning Nov. 8. Donations will benefit the House of Peace, a Capuchin
Franciscan Ministry.
The process is simple, but the effects will be widespread and
substantial.
- Pick up an empty donation box at one of four
locations; the St. Francis of Assisi Chapel, the U.C. (near Schroeder
Auditorium), the Campus Ministry Center, or the Joan Steele Stein Center for
Communication Studies and Fine Arts. Boxes will be available after
3 p.m. on
Nov. 8.
- Fill the box with nonperishable food items to
create a House of Peace Holiday Basket.
-
Return filled boxes to any of the previously
mentioned locations.
Financial donations are also appreciated and may be turned
in directly to Jon Metz or Father Jim.
All members of the Stritch community are invited to attend
the Ecumenical Thanksgiving Service on Nov. 15 at 12:25 p.m. in the St. Francis
of Assisi Chapel. Representatives from the House of Peace will be present to pick up donations at this time, however, the food drive will continue after Nov. 15.
After the donation period, members of men’s baseball team
will collect the filled boxes and purchase additional food items.
