Stritch’s Ruth S. Coleman College of Nursing has been named a finalist
for the 2012 Agape Advocate Award.
The award, sponsored by the Agape Community Center, will be presented to
an organization that demonstrates continuous support and implementation of the
center’s mission and values.
Dean Kelly Dries is honored and humbled by the nomination.
“We are so pleased to be nominated for the Agape Advocate Award,” said
Dries. “We have truly been blessed to partner with the Agape Community Center,
and we look forward to our continued collaborative efforts to build strong
neighborhoods in Milwaukee.
The center, an
affiliate of Ministry Health Care, serves communities in northwest Milwaukee. Through
partnerships with local organizations, Agape Community Center offers a range of
services including after school activities, tutoring, community meals, senior
recreational activities, and health initiatives.
Stritch’s nursing programs work closely with the center
by providing onsite blood pressure tests, hearing and vision screenings,
medication consultations, and general health education.
As a finalist, Stritch will be recognized at the annual Agape Awards
Dinner on Nov. 17 at the Wisconsin Club.
