The No. 13-ranked Stritch Wolves women's basketball team will face off with the University of Illinois Fighting Illini in an exhibition game at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 3.

The team has high hopes heading into the season, and the game against the Fighting Illini offers fans an early glimpse into what’s to come.

Under fourth-year head coach John Pfaffl, the Wolves enter this season having won a combined 78 games over the course of three seasons, extending their streak of 20-or-more wins a season to 18 consecutive years.

"Being offered an opportunity to compete against a Big Ten Conference team is certainly an honor for our program," said Pfaffl.  "We view it as a great 'measuring stick' on our levels of toughness and composure.  Playing them will be a great way for us to prepare for our season ahead as we look to build off of what we accomplished last year."

A special Wakin' Up with the Wolves breakfast tailgate will take place at 6:15 a.m. on Nov. 3 in Parking Lot 5, across from the Communication Fine Arts Building. The buses will pick up fans at this location at 7 a.m.
