Dr. Asuncion Miteria Austria, professor emerita, was appointed by the American
Psychological Association Board of Educational Affairs for a one year term
(Jan. 1-Dec. 31, 2013) to the APA Commission on Accreditation. The commission
evaluates doctoral, internship, and postdoctoral residency programs in
professional psychology in accordance with published criteria and procedures,
and is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as a programmatic
accrediting body.
Dr. Trevor Hyde, assistant professor and director of clinical training in the
Graduate Program in Clinical Psychology, had an article, “Parkinson
Disease: Research Update and Clinical Management,” published in the Southern Medical Journal, Volume 105, Number 12 (Dec.
2012), a publication of The Southern Medical Association. The article was also selected for
continuing education credit by the journal. Hyde also presented “Memory Functioning and Aging” at the Northwestern
Iowa Parkinson’s Disease Symposium in Sioux City, Iowa on Oct. 27.
Dr. Janice E. Jones, assistant professor in
the Doctoral Leadership Studies Department, co-authored a chapter entitled
"Ability and Aptitude Assessment in Career Counseling" in “Career Development and Counseling: Putting
Theory and Research to Work,” 2nd edition.
Dr. Eun-Joo Kwak, associate professor of piano,
was one of three adjudicators of the Milwaukee Concord Chamber Orchestra
Concerto Competition on Dec. 15. She also served on the judging panel for the
final round of the MacDowell Club of Milwaukee’s 2012 National Young Composer
Competition on Dec. 18
Dr. Tom Scheiding, assistant professor of economics
and chair of the business administration program in the College of Business and
Management, has three forthcoming publications: a chapter titled “Where Do
Mongolian Scholars Go?” in an edited volume titled Information Access and
Library User Needs in Developing Countries (co-authored with B. Yadamsuren,
University of Missouri); “The Shaping of the Scholarly Communication System in
Mongolia” in East Asian Science, Technology, and Society: An International Journal (with B. Yadamsuren,
University of Missouri, and L. Gantulga, Mongolian Academy of Sciences); and “The
National Science Foundation and Economics” in Minerva (with T. Mata, Cambridge
University).
