“Weightless Words” is the culmination of two years of
collaboration between guest curator John Loscuito of the Haggerty Museum and
artists Ted Brusubardis, Annushka Peck, and Calvin Whitehurst. Their work
transforms the gallery into a space of art and audio installations.
Visitors are invited to explore how commonly spoken words
define our reality and understanding of history through image, text, and sound.
“Each artist has provided their own artist statement but
there are some overarching ideas, as well,” Loscuito explains in his curator’s
statement. “These works are meant to shed light on some of our more difficult
human experiences.”
The art featured in “Weightless Words” addresses subjects
such as war, hatred, and excessive pride.
Please note that this exhibit contains sensitive subject
matter and may not be suitable for young children.
Gallery hours are noon -4 p.m. Sunday through Friday.
Admission is free.
