Alumni Family Day slated for Feb. 15

Saturday, February 01, 2014 8:50:00 PM

Alumni are encouraged to bring the family and join us Feb. 15 for a fun afternoon of kids activities and Stritch's production of "The Shoemaker and the Elves."

The event begins at 1 p.m. with the 2 p.m. theater show to follow. After the performance, alumni will have the opportunity to attend the Genesians student theater group's "Meet the Cast" ice cream social. All events occur in the Joan Steel Stein Center for Communication Studies/Fine Arts.

in "The Shoemaker and the Elves," Lockhart Cobblestone is a kind shoemaker with a gentle heart yet little money. Despite his problems, the generous man helps an old beggar woman by giving her his last pair of shoes. Through the help of five enduring elves, the shoemaker makes the most incredible shoes the town of Clankbottom has ever seen. This charming version is filled with silly characters and delightful tunes including “We Love to Dance,” and the toe tapping “Shoes.”

Alumni packages are $5 per person (child or adult) and includes theater performance and a pre-show event with a special craft and snack for the kids.

To order tickets, call the Alumni Association office at (414) 410-4939 or email events@stritch.edu.
