Music department spring schedule includes three concerts

Piano Festival

The talented faculty and students from Stritch’s music department will perform three concerts during the spring semester, in addition to hosting a statewide music competition festival.

Admission to all performances is free.

Faculty Chamber Music Concert
Feb. 24
7:30 p.m.
Nancy Kendall Theater
Stritch faculty artists include Catherine McGinn, bass; Linda Nielsen, flute; James Norden, piano; Amelia Spierer, soprano; and Olga Tuzhilkov, viola. Guest artists include Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra members William Helmers, Ravenna Helson, and Jennifer Stratt.

New Music Concert

The New Music Concert features original works by Stritch student composers.

Wisconsin School Music Association State Festival
May 3
8 a.m. -4 p.m.
Stritch will again host the Wisconsin School Music Association State Festival (WSMA). This final stage of the competition will bring many of the state’s most talented and dedicated middle and high school student musicians to the main campus.

Piano Showcase
May 7
6 p.m.
Nancy Kendall Theater
This annual concert features Stritch piano majors and chamber musicians.
