110 golfers participate in Wolf Pack Open

On June 2, 110 golfers gathered at Ironwood Golf Course in Sussex for the 2013 Wolf Pack Open.

The event was first held in 2011 and has become a successful annual fundraiser for Stritch Athletics, contributing to athletic training and student scholarships.

The day began with a round of golf on Ironwood’s expansive links. Although the temperature was chilly for early June, Athletic Director Pat Clemens says that spirits were high.

“Everyone we talked to had a great time,” said Clemens. “It was cool, but the rain stayed away.”

Throughout the day, golfers participated in raffles and a silent auction, which included a pass for two to attend the Tuesday practice round for the Masters Tournament at Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia.

The winning team of Randy Esenberg, Sean Esenberg, Scott Knusta, and Stritch’s own Jack Glynn finished at 14 under par.

The daylong event concluded with dinner, and undoubtedly, some stories from the links.
