Recent accomplishments of Stritch faculty members
Dr. Mette L. Baran and Dr. Janice E. Jones, assistant
professors in the doctoral leadership department collaborated on a chapter in
the forthcoming book, "Handbook on Family Policies across the Globe"
from Springer Publications.
Dr. Keith Mann,
associate professor and chair of the sociology department, authored three
articles in the recently published Sociology of Work Encylopedia (Sage). The
articles are "Unions," "Strikes and Protest," and
Dr. Kim Paxton, recently earned
her Doctorate of Nursing Practice from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities.
Her doctoral work is titled, “Promoting the Health Nurses through Web-Based Pedometer
Intervention.” Since earning her doctorate, Dr. Paxton has presented at a
number of national professional conventions including, The American Public
Health Association, The American Association of Colleges of Nursing, and The
Western Institute of Nursing.
Dr. David Stosur, associate professor of
religious studies, presented a paper, “The New English Translation of the Mass:
Ecumenical and Interfaith Implications,” at Sacred Texts and Human Contexts: A Symposium on the
Role of the Sacred Texts of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam in Uniting and
Dividing Humanity at the Nazareth College Hickey Center for
Interfaith Studies and Dialogue in Rochester, NY, on June 22, 2013. Another of
Stosur’s papers, “Mixed Signals on Liturgical Participation: Teaching Liturgy
and Crossing Generational Divides,” was accepted for publication in the 2013 volume
of “Proceedings of the North American
Academy of Liturgy.”
