Students to offer car washes at several locations on Aug. 23

Wednesday, August 21, 2013 3:00:00 PM

Stritch students will begin the 2013 -14 academic year by offering a series of car washes on Friday, Aug. 23 to raise money for St. Ben’s Community Meal Program.

In addition to offering washes at the Stritch main campus, 6801 N. Yates Road, students will also set up in the parking lots of seven local churches in Milwaukee, Fox Point, Whitefish Bay, and Germantown.

The cost is by donation and all of the proceeds will benefit St. Ben’s Community Meal Program, a Capuchin social justice ministry that serves Milwaukee’s chronically poor and homeless by providing more than 2,000 homemade meals a week. To learn more, visit www.stbensmilwaukee.org.

Students participate in a community service project each year as part of fall orientation, demonstrating the University’s Franciscan value of caring and community.
