Information for Faculty


Schedule of Evaluations
Faculty can expect their students to receive online course evaluations for their courses according to the following schedule: 
Traditional Courses:
Online course evaluations will be available 12 days before the last day of class and will close two days after the last day of final exams.
Graduate/Doctoral and all Non-Term Courses:
Online course evaluations will be available one week before the last day of class and will close wto days after the last day of class.

Student Access to Evaluations
There are two ways in which students can access online course evaluations:
1. Students will receive a personalized email at their Stritch email addrses for each course that they are enrolled in containing a link to the evaluation for that course when the survey window begins (see the schedule for evaluations above).
2. Additionally, students can log in to My Stritch to view all online course evaluations available to them. During the time that an evaluation window is active, a pop-up message will appear upon logging in to My Stritch with a link to the evaluation(s) currently available.

Questions on Evaluations
Each course evaluation contains seven university questions, college questions (from the college in which the course is offered) and faculty can add up to 10 questions to each of their evaluations.

7 University Questions (scale of Strongly Agree, Agree, Neutral, Disagree, Strongly Disagree, Not Applicable)
1. The instructor helped to provide an atmosphere that was conducive to learning.
2. The instructor was available when I went to see him/her during regularly scheduled office hours or when I had an appointment with him/her.
3. The instructor challenged me to think critically, analytically, and/or creatively.
4. The instructor promoted/facilitated students' learning of course material.
5. The instructor followed the policies established in the course syllabus.
6. The instructor provided sufficient feedback on my performance.
7. I have met all my responsibilities as a student in this class.

Courses with a Clinical Instructor:

Adding Questions to Your Course Evaluation(s)

Ten days before your course evaluation window begins, instructors are allowed to preview their course evaluation and add up to 10 questions. There are two ways in which instructors can access their evaluations in order to add questions:
1. Log in to My Stritch, click on "Courses", then "Course Evaluations". A link presented will log you directly into your EvalCenter for viewing upcoming evaluations. If you have logged in within the timeframe that questions can be added to evaluations, you will see a link to the left side of the evaluation with the wods "Add Q's".
2. You will receive an email notification approximately 5 days prior to the beginning of the course evaluation window. A link in the email will log you direclty into your EvalCenter. If you have logged in within the timeframe that questions can be added to evaluations, you will see al ink to the left side of the evaluation to "Add Q's". 

Instructor Access to Results
Evaluation results are stored on a secure server. Access to aggregate results is restricted to the faculty member, his/her department Assessment Coordinator, his/her Department Chair and Dean, the Executive Vice President of Academic Affairs, and the Office of Data Quality and Institutional Research.  

In addition, in order to maintain student confidentiality, evaluation results for courses with less than four students enrolled will not be available for instructor viewing. The results for these evaluations will be available for review by the department Assessment Coordinators, Department Chairs and Deans, the Executive Vice President of Academic Affairs, and the Office of Data Quality and Institutional Research. 

Non-credit/zero credit courses are currently not evaluated.

Availability of Results
Faculty will be able to view aggregate results of the course evaluations four weeks after the end date of the course. This will ensure that grades are posted priot to instructors having access to evaluation results.

There are two ways in which an instructor can access results of their online course evaluations:

2. Instructors can log in to My Stritch, click on "Courses", then "Course Evaluations". A link presented will log you directly into your EvalCenter for viewing current and historical course evaluation results.

Exporting Results
Instructors have the ability to download the evaluation results for their courses in PDF format.

Team Taught Courses
Each instructor listed for a team taught course will have the ability to add their own additional questions to the evaluation. When the results for the evaluation are compiled, each instructor will see all of the results for the university and college questions. They will only see the results for their own additional questions. They will never see the results for any other instructor's questions.
