Service Description
Cardinal
Stritch University Office of Information Services, Infrastructure team has the
responsibility for backing up servers and user data that is stored within those
servers. Customers, in many cases, can perform their own file recovery for user
data stored on network file shares. All other requests can be made through the
service owner.
How to Use this Service
- Determine the
location of the file(s) or folder that you need recovered. Browse to that
location in Windows Explorer and either right-click on the file or the parent
folder. Review the list of items that appear. If you see an option for "Restore
Previous Versions", refer to the Instructions in the next section of the
document, titled "Self-Service File Restore."
- If you are unable to
recover your file or folder using the self-service option, contact the service
owner with the files you need recovered and the exact path to those files. When
possible, include the full UNC path to the network file (e.g.
\\fileshare01\technology services\Documentation) and not "G:\Documentation" as
drive mappings on your computer will be different than drive mappings on anyone
else's computer.
