Service Description
Cardinal
Stritch University Office of Information Services, Infrastructure team has the
responsibility for providing and maintaining a data center and when applicable,
computing resources in network closets, for the reliable and efficient hosting
of University servers and services.
How to Use this Service
- Any time you access a University server or network service, it is likely
served by equipment in the University Data Center.
- Additionally, the
support and maintenance of the University data center by the service owner
includes:
- Planning and implementing a logical data center design,
including planning for growth and implementing new systems
- Ongoing
upgrades and maintenance to the existing data center
- Backup and
protection of data integrity of systems in the data center
- Provisions
for disaster recovery, including remote DR site management and recovery.
- If you are requesting a new server or service, work with the
service owner on integrating this new server to the existing data center to
ensure the new equipment is appropriate for our environment. Additionally,
follow the instructions in the Server Provisioning service guide.
