Service Description
As a comprehensive Catholic university, Cardinal Stritch University Library has facilities and services primarily for its own faculty, staff, and students. The library is available, however, for use by other patron groups with limited borrower and user services. In order to provide for limited borrowing and other services, community members may apply for a Community Borrower Card.
Card holders may have up to five items checked out at one time. The library reserves the right to recall items from any patron if the item is needed for course reserves or requested by another patron. Card holders may also use library computers and access online resources while on campus. Reference service is also available; however, Cardinal Stritch University students, faculty, and staff have priority for reference consultation and use of other limited resources. Interlibrary loan service, off-campus delivery, and study rooms are not available for community card holders.
How to Use this Service
Persons 18 years of age or older,who are not alumni or current faculty, students, or staff of Cardinal Stritch University, may apply for limited borrowing privileges for the annual fee of $40. Library cards are valid for one year from the date of issue and may be renewed for the annual fee. Lost or stolen cards should be reported immediately. There is a $5 processing charge for replacement cards.
An application form is available at the circulation desk in the library and online. In order to receive a card, a user must fill out an application and return to the library in person or through mail with payment for the annual fee of $40. Check should be made payable to Cardinal Stritch University.
