Service Description
What is a research consultation?
A research consultation is a one-on-one appointment with a librarian for extensive, in-depth research assistance. If you need more help than can be provided at the reference desk, or from the live chat with a librarian service, a research consultation appointment may be the right option for you. We will do our best to match you with a librarian who has some expertise in the subject area of your research.
During a Research Consultation a librarian can:
- Help you formulate a research strategy
- Demonstrate effective searches in the library catalog
- Suggest strategies for searching specific databases
- Help you search the Web for relevant and reliable information
- Explain how to gain access to material held at other libraries
