Service Description

Software for Cardinal Stritch University Owned Computers:

Cardinal Stritch University provides software for University owned computers through the Software Licensing program in Office of Information Services. User Support Services is responsible for providing a standard desktop environment in accordance to various software licensing agreements. 

Software in Labs and Classrooms:

A variety of programs are installed in labs and classrooms, and multimedia carts throughout the University. A core standard image has been created and designed to meet the needs of faculty and students across the University. Specialized labs can be found in the Joan Steele Stein Center for Communication Studies/Fine Arts and the College of Nursing. 

Personal Software for Students:

Student discounts on a variety of programs, including Microsoft Office and Adobe products, are available through the www.journeyed.com/waicu website. Be sure to use the Cardinal Stritch University web store. 

Personal Software for Faculty and Staff:

Through Cardinal Stritch University's Microsoft Campus Agreement, faculty and staff are allowed to receive a "Work At Home" copy of Microsoft Office (Windows or Macintosh). This license may be used only by faculty or staff and can only be used while an employee of the University. Requests for the Work At Home software should be directed to the Technology Help Desk using the Request Assistance Form or by phone 414-410-4600.

 Faculty and staff who wish to purchase non-Microsoft software for personal use should visit www.journeyed.com/waicu

End of Life Software

User Support Services will support all standard software through the length of time related to the software license. User Support Services will make all necessary efforts to maintain the latest version of software on all University owned computers. Please note, software may not be updated immediately upon release due to timing and its relation to the school year.
