Commencement

The spring commencement ceremonies will take place at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Sunday, May 19, 2013 at the Delta Center, 400 W. Wisconsin Ave.


The official commencement ceremonies will be held on Sunday, May 19, in the Ballroom at the Delta Center (formerly the Frontier Airlines Center), 400 W. Wisconsin Ave.

The graduate degree ceremony (Masters and Doctoral) will be held at 11 a.m.
The undergraduate ceremony (Associate and Bachelors) will be held at 3 p.m.

Tickets are not required to attend either ceremony.

Commencement speaker and honorary degree recipient - Al Costigan


Costigan

Stritch is honored to welcome Al Costigan as commencement speaker for both ceremonies. He will also receive an honorary degree in humane letters from the University.

Costigan is the retired president/CEO of Level Valley Creamery, Inc. and a member of Stritch’s Board of Trustees. He worked in the food industry for more than 45 years with General Mills, RJR Foods and Henri’s Food Products, which brought him to Milwaukee. In 1995, he and his two partners purchased Level Valley Creamery Inc. in West Bend. He served as president and CEO of the company for 9 ½ years before selling it to Schreiber Foods of Green Bay.

As a community volunteer, Costigan has served on the Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer (MACC) Fund board of directors for more than 25 years. He has served on the boards of Clasen Quality Coatings, Inc., The Milwaukee Protestant Home, Milwaukee Urban Soccer Coalition, and the North Shore Country Club, as well as the Research Committee of the Children’s Research Institute at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. He also administers The Costigan Family Foundation.

Through his business and nonprofit leadership, Costigan truly embraces Stritch’s Franciscan values.
