Service Opportunities

In the Franciscan tradition, service is motivated by the example of Jesus washing the feet of his apostles. Inspired by the life of Christ in the Gospels, St. Francis set about doing good and serving the needs of others.

St. Benedict's Meal

For the last 26 years, students and staff have carried hot meals downtown to feed the hungry on the first Thursday of each month from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Individuals can sign up for this truly life-changing experience in the breezeway at the Campus Ministry bulletin board. A meal for each participant is included.

Habitat For Humanity

Students often head south with hammers in their hands to build houses with people who cannot afford them but can work to earn them. The students do fund raising for this trip, and they form a community with reflections and sharing as they grow personally and spiritually.

Repairers of the Breach

This is a monthly opportunity to travel to Repairers of the Breach Daytime Homeless Shelter to serve and interact with the people who are a part of this community. Check the monthly Campus Ministry calendar for times.
