Music organizations are open to all students who desire to continue their music performance experiences through their college years.
Scholarships are available for non-music majors who qualify through audition with the conductor. Students who are interested in performing music or playing it have outlets at Stritch. For more information on music groups, contact Dennis King, Music Department chair, at firstname.lastname@example.org. Performances are open to the public and Stritch students are admitted free.
A performing ensemble of mixed voices, open to all students. Members study choral literature and vocal techniques. Academic credit is available for participation. Sign-up outside of the choir rehearsal room (CFA 175) for an audition.
Chamber String Orchestra
Open to all students who play string, woodwind, brass, or percussion instruments, with the option of academic credit. The ensemble performs at least one concert every academic year in addition to other performance opportunities
Open to all University students who play saxophone, trumpet, trombone or a rhythm section instrument (drums, guitar, bass, piano). The Jazz Band performs at on-campus concerts and participates in other University events. Music arrangements consist of the traditional swing and big band charts, jazz, rock, blues, and Latin styles. An audition with the director may be requested.
