FAQ: After I Apply
How much financial aid will I be offered?
The amount of financial aid you will be eligible for depends on two main factors. The first factor is your Estimated Family Contribution (EFC), which is established when you complete a FAFSA. Second is the Cost of Attendance (COA) at your chosen institution. The timing of your application is also important because many federal, state and institutional funds are limited. In general, you will be awarded the maximum amount of grants and loans that you are eligible for, based on your EFC and the availability of funds when you apply.
When will I receive a "refund check" from my financial aid?
If you have completed all of the necessary paperwork for the financial aid process and are registered for class three weeks prior to the start of the semester, your financial aid should be on account in time for the first refunds of the semester. To help insure that your financial aid comes in on time, please make sure that the enrollment and housing status listed on your award letter are correct and all paperwork is turned into the Financial Aid Office. "Refunds" are financial aid funds that are excess over billed costs - tuition, fees, etc.
