As the largest Franciscan institution of higher education in North America, Cardinal Stritch University continually strives to cultivate a fuller and deeper understanding of St. Francis of Assisi among our community.

Each year, students, faculty, and staff take part in pilgrimages to Assisi, Italy that visit the major sanctuaries associated with both St. Francis and St. Clare. One sanctuary that is especially relevant this time of year is in Greccio, Italy, where Francis created the world’s first nativity scene.

On behalf of the entire Cardinal Stritch University community, we wish you a holiday season filled with the spirit of St. Francis: forgiveness, healing, reconciliation, and peace.

Merry Christmas and happy holidays to all of you.

President James P. and Irene Loftus
