Prior Learning Assessment Workshops
In order to assist our students in preparing materials for credit petition, the Credit for Prior Learning Office holds regularly scheduled workshops throughout the year. These workshops are offered during convenient evening hours and at no cost. Refer to the links below for upcoming workshops.
The workshops cover options for prior learning credit as well as procedures for assembling a portfolio and preparing experiential learning essays. Workshops are kept small to allow for individualized attention. Students are invited to bring documentation or other materials pertaining to non-collegiate learning experiences for discussion. Most workshops consist of a series of one-on-one appointments; however, group sessions may be necessary depending on the number of students registered.
We hold workshops monthly in Region I (SW WI), alternating between Brookfield and Kenosha. Students attending on the main campus should contact the main office directly and schedule an individual appointment during regular business hours. Evening hours are available by appointment as well.
Visits to Madison and Beloit (Region 2) also alternate on a monthly basis.
Minnesota site visits occur approximately twice a year. Individual appointments can be accomodated during the day as well as early evening. Classroom visits can also be scheduled.
The Prior Learning Assessment Office often coordinates visits, particularly in Regions 2 & 3, with Career Services. Learn more about Career Services and upcoming events at the Career Services home page.
To schedule a session, please contact the Director of Prior Learning Assessment at (800) 347-8822, ext. 4092 or (414) 410-4092 (direct line). E-mail requests should go to chead@stritch.edu.
