Master of Science in Sports Management

The Master of Science (M.S.) in Sport Management program is designed to prepare the student for careers in professional, collegiate, and not‐for‐profit athletics as well as wholesale/retail sporting goods, facility and event management, and health and fitness club management.

The MS in Sport Management program is designed to prepare students for careers in professional, collegiate, and not-for-profit athletics as well as wholesale/retail sporting goods, facility and event management, and health and fitness club management. The program offers a wide variety of courses that focus on all aspects of management in the sport industry.

This program provides significant opportunities to network with alumni and other professionals in the sport management field at numerous on campus events and off professional conferences during the school year. This networking has lead to numerous job opportunities for students even prior to graduation.

Program Format

The program can be completed in just under 2 years (22 months), offering courses in an accelerated format. Courses are 8 weeks in length and are offered in a face-to-face format, one night each week from 6:00pm-10:00pm.

The executive-level focus of the program challenges students to become scholars in their particular area of sport. This includes a capstone project, selected specifically in an area of career focus for each student.

Recent graduates have earned positions with organizations such as the Milwaukee Brewers, Milwaukee Bucks, Spurs Sports and Entertainment, Pettit National Ice Center, Sportservice (Miller Park and Lambeau Field), GMR Marketing, YMCA, Special Olympics, and a variety of administrative positions with colleges, universities, and municipal recreation departments.
