State Authorization

Federal and state regulations require that all institutions of higher education comply with existing state laws affecting the delivery of distance education (online and correspondence) degrees, programs and courses.

These regulations may limit Cardinal Stritch University’s ability to offer distance education opportunities to students whose physical presence is in a state other than Wisconsin. As these regulations are continuously evolving, Cardinal Stritch University makes every effort to maintain compliance. Students seeking to enroll in an online education program who reside outside the state of Wisconsin, but within the United States, District of Columbia, and U.S. Territories (excludes international locations), should check the University’s state authorization status. Please click on the states below to see what programs we can offer to residents of each particular state.

Authorized Authorized Pending

States listed under “Authorized Pending” have regulations which limit the physical presence Cardinal Stritch University can have in that state. Physical presence can mean internship, externship, mentorship, clinical, student teaching, or any other type of field experience component. In addition, programs in certain subject areas that require licensure or certification may require separate approvals. Therefore, at this time, we can only offer our 100% online programs in the College of Business and Management to students who reside in states listed under “Authorized Pending.”

Please note and be advised the states are subject to change AT ANY TIME as laws and regulations change.

If you are a current student who is considering moving from Wisconsin, Minnesota, or Illinois to any other state and would like to maintain your enrollment, please notify your academic advisor as soon as possible to discuss your options for continuing your program.
