Greg BowlerHead Coach
First Season

Greg Bowler enters his first season at the helm for the Cardinal Stritch University Wolves women’s soccer program.  Bowler takes over the reigns of the program for Pat Clemens who was a mainstay as the program’s coach for over 10 seasons.

Bowler comes to Stritch with 11 years of coaching experience in his portfolio.  The Potypridd, Wales-native has spent several years coaching in some of the more successful programs around such as the South Wales School of Excellence, the Cedarburg Soccer Club, the Rhondda Cynon Taff Soccer Development Soccer Centre, and Milwaukee Wave summer camps.  He also spent one season as an assistant coach to the Stritch men’s and women’s soccer teams.

Before taking on the head coaching role at Stritch, Bowler was known as one of Cardinal Stritch University’s most successful men’s soccer players.  His tenacity and style of play led him to be named a two-time NAIA All-American player.  Bowler garnered several other awards in his time at Stritch such as being named two-time All-Region, three-time Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) first team All-Conference, CCAC Freshman of the Year in 2001, and two-time team Most Valuable Player.

As a member of the Wolves soccer program, Bowler was a four-year starter and three-time team captain.  Bowler also gained the distinction on the international level by starting five times for the Wales National Team where he played against New Zealand, Ireland, Northern Ireland, England, and Scotland.

Bowler currently holds a degree in sports management from Cardinal Stritch University.  He and his wife, Lisa, reside in Glendale.


Ashley KnutsonGraduate Assistant
First Season

Ashley Knutson joins Stritch in her first season as the graduate assistant for the Cardinal Stritch University Wolves women's soccer program.  Knutson comes to the Wolves with a solid coaching base and will be in charge of the Wolves' goalkeepers along with recruiting.

Knutson, originally from Wisconsin Rapids, was a part of the Lincoln Senior High School soccer program where she was a team captain, winning the conference title four straight season.  She was also a member of the Wisconsin Rapids Kickers club team and the Central Wisconsin U-18 select team.

As a coach, Knutson has coached at several levels.  She has coached the Coulee Region United Soccer Association's U-8 and U-11 teams, the Rapids Kickers U-13, U-14, U-15, and U-17, all as a head coach.  Most recently, the Wolves' assistant has also been named the head coach for the Cedarburg Soccer Club U-12 girls head coach.  As an assistant coach, Knutson was a part of the junior varsity program at Logan High School and was an assistant varsity coach at Onalaska High School.  She currently holds a USSF National "C" Coaching License along with the NSCAA Regional Goalkeeping diploma.

Knutson currently holds a degree in german and education from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.  She currently resides in Grafton.
