Welcome to the Office of Academic Affairs

The provost is Cardinal Stritch University's chief educational and administrative officer after the president. The Office of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs oversees academic policies, student life and information services and activities university wide. The provost works in collaboration with colleague vice presidents on the cabinet, the president of the University and with others in the university administration to achieve the goals and aspirations at one of the largest Franciscan universities in the United States. The provost also works directly with the deans of the four colleges and one school on campus (Ruth S. Coleman College of Nursing & Health Sciences, College of Business and Management, College of Arts and Sciences, College of Education and Leadership, and the School of Continuing and Online Learning) as well as with faculty and their leaders at various delivery locations. 

Academics is focused on creating a platform for continued excellence, data driven and innovative actions, focusing on student learning in all aspects of their life at the institution and collegial and collaborative forward-leaning progress. Leadership of the academic identity of the institution and the actions to implement that focus and plan is a key activity.

In addition the Student Success Center (Student Affairs) is organizationally in academics which includes student support, residence life, student life, academic counseling, and academic support centers on campus and at the delivery centers. The Office of Information Services (Library, User Support Services, Infrastructure Support, Institutional Effectiveness/IR, and Enterprise Systems) also reports in Academic Affairs as does the University Archive and the Office of Mission Integration.

The Office of Academic Affairs is an integrated, collegial and collaborative division of the University that strives to support students in helping them to achieve their mission.

The status of Emerita/Emeritus is an honorary rank conferred by the Board of Trustees of the University upon the recommendation of the President, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dean of the College and Department Chair, and the approval of the Academic and Student Affairs Committee. These individuals have made a significant contribution to the University in more than one of the following areas: teaching, scholarship, service to the University, service to the community, and service to the profession. We are proud to have had them among our faculty and administration at Cardinal Stritch University.
