Doctoral Programs

The doctoral journey of learning, leadership and service
Earning a Ph.D. at Cardinal Stritch University provides rigorous training in the methods of interdisciplinary work, while preparing you to be a researcher, a judicious consumer of research and a notable leader within your professional field. Using the Franciscan values as a guide in learning and interpreting the work students will be engaged in during the program, the Stritch curriculum challenges students to explore learning, leadership and service.
Doctoral students at Stritch come from a diverse range of professions including business and non-profit executives, hospital administrators, K-12 school leaders and consultants from a variety of industries. Our academic programming is designed to allow you to select a more focused content emphasis on Higher Education or Health Care to align with your goals and interests. At Stritch, we believe we are in service to one another in the learning process and work actively within the larger context of relationships and the world.

The Summer Institute
Doctoral students attend the Summer Institute, a two-week immersive learning experience. Stritch faculty and nationally-recognized subject matter experts lead the Summer Institute, which is heralded by alumni as a transformative experience. In addition to the in-class learning, students complete research on aspects of current theory, integrating the information from the Summer Institute and relating it to practical aspects within society. The Summer Institute is a required, credited learning experience for all doctoral students.
